Established in 2006, the Lakes District Arts Council strives to support and encourage all the arts
by promoting growth, diversity and excellence. Our goals include:
- to raise public awareness of arts and culture within the community through education;
- to promote interest and participation in developing cultural projects and events;
- to provide communication and support between the arts and the public;
- to gain public interest and promote public understanding of cultural groups;
- to bring the cultural needs of the Lakes District to the attention of local and provincial governments.
The Lakes District Arts Council (LDAC) was incorporated under the Society Act of British Columbia on May 31, 2006
(Registration No. S-50745). The LDAC has a four member Executive and five Directors. We are members of the Burns Lake
and District Chamber of Commerce, Central Interior Regional Arts Council (CIRAC) and the BC Touring Council.
